"It's Always Fun When Grandkids Come."

When Nathan and Clara arrived they didn't even get out of the car as we were off to visit grandma.
I was a little worried as grandma has really failed since the children have seen her.  Nathan did great he held her hand while I got her a drink.

He watched me rub her legs as she loves that , then Nathan decided to do it also.  Grandma was thrilled that they came.

Clara , was very interested in a minature bird house in grandma's sun room.

When we got home the kids were thrilled to see Molly.  So they took turns taking her for a walk.

The children were so happy to have Molly to take care of.

  In fact Nathan was so happy he asked if he could sleep with her on the floor.  I said ok. and made him a bed on the floor by Molly.  He stayed there all night but Molly after a few hours came in bed with Clara and me.

The next morning after they each took Molly for a walk they hugged her good bye as we went to Colassantis.

    Clara hugged her too, but wanted to take her with us.  I explained they don't like dogs to come there only people.

I forgot to tell you Papa read them a bed time story right after learning about Daniel and the Lions Den for home evening.

The guinea pigs were so cute.

The goats were kind of lazy enjoying the sunshine.

The turtles were a big hit.

Usually the kids pass by the flowers but today it was so colourful Nathan couldn't resist the opportunity to smell the pretty purple flowers.

They both loved this colourful  Easter display.

Clara couldn't get over how large these flowers were.

Then it was off to the slides while I set up the donuts and cider.

We did bring home some donuts to Papa but the kids made a good dent in the bag.  The apple cider was delicious too.!

Clara loved the play centre and wasn't too anxious to leave.

What a cute pose....I could just eat her up.

We were only home for a short while and then we got to see Aunt Heather and Uncle Pete.

It was so fun to see them but the children found it hard to say good bye to Molly .

We Think We'll Keep Her

We are really enjoying puppy tending.

Molly does not like her picture taken.  As soon as she sees the camera....she turns or runs away.!



Bill took her for a walk.



                                    She likes being outside when it's warm but here it was raining and cold so she was anxious to get inside and I don't blame her.

A Delightful Day

Sister Cook is a councillor in the Young Womens Presidency on the general board.  It was a wonderful meeting at the stake centre today.    I don't have any young women in Wallaceburg presently, but the principles taught will be very helpful in assisting others who are having difficulties in their lives.

Marie Rippley from Leamington was asked to speak at this meeting.  She had been struggling for a while with her testimony.  This talk helped her reach out to pray about the truthfulness of the gospel.  She did so and has made a turn around in her personal life.

Heather actually was instrumental in getting this wonderful speaker to come to speak to us this weekend.   She had tried to get someone from Salt Lake to come for Relief Society from the general board ....but when that didn't work out they sent Sister Cook to address the young women.   So Megan Sandor was in charge of setting up this event for the young women leaders as well for  bishops and branch presidents throughout the London Stake.  All and all it was a great day!

It's A Fun Hobby

Bill is really enjoying painting his mallard drake decoy.
This is a 6 week course put on by Daryl Smith in Wallaceburg.



The decoys are looking great!

Daryl is a great teacher.  I think I would like to try my hand at painting one of  these beautiful birds.

It's not just a guy thing Sister Dixon is having a riot.



Another great plus is they are getting to meet lots of new friends.

A Rock And Roll Moment

Today was a 60's activity day at the nursing home.  The room was crowded with residence and their families.  I usually can't get mom to go to musical activities.... but today she did.  They passed out root beer floats and that was a hit.

Then when the music and  dancing began...she started to clap.  I was thrilled.

The girl on the left is Nellie the activity director.  She is amazing.  The 2 girls on her right are her sisters.  They work at the home too.  The girl on the far right was the main dancer.

She was a lot of fun.  Then she invited me to come up and dance....you know what I did!!

I had a great time dancing with one of the sweet residents to Roy Orbinson's "Pretty Women".

Hey guys I will find any excuse to dance.  I remember dancing while vacuming the house with 5 little kids dancing behind me.

This little gal was dancing while singing ''Shake It Up Baby".

After it was all over we went back to mom's room where it was all decked out for Easter. 

Karri this is a great sign you gave grandma.  We put it up to remind all the workers....what really matters!

Heather got this cute saying  for mom....don't you just love it!

We filled many eggs with chocolates and I noticed today most were gone.  Mom loves chocolates.

I took some snaps of the activity room.  Nellie does a great job.  Gosh if I would have remembered it was a 60's event.... I would have worn my poodle skirt and my letter sweater.

Don't laugh guys these were the records I grew up with!

It Was A Jack And The Beanstock Moment

In this very large container only one lonely bean pushed through the soil last Friday.  .  When I returned last evening from London I was amazed to see this huge bean plant ...3 times the height of the spinach shoots.  Bill thinks it won't grow alot higher...but I think we will need  to place a  tall stake beside it  to support its height .
We are both finding this very exciting.  Next, I am going to sprout some mung beans.

For breakfast we tried putting bean sprouts from the store in our smoothies.  It was delicious and so amazingly healthy.  Now I will try to sprout my own beans.
