Reflections On A Great Easter

Good Friday although it was rainy and very cold it didn't dampen our fun at Jack Miners.
Jeff and Lindsey and Tyler and Landon arrived just after 2  on Friday and we headed over to feed the geese.

Landon seemed to really enjoy this experience.

Tyler liked the geese at a distance.  He had fun on the swing with dad and Landon.

Even Papa got in on the action.!!

Time to go but we still had time for a quick jump!

Then off to Colassanti's where it was warmer and we could pig out on donuts and cider.

Tyler loved coming down  the slides on his tummy.

Then on Saturday when Scott and Cassandra anKathy and family arrived we went over to Aunt Heather and Uncle Petes.
Heather and Sam were decked out in matching bunny aprons. (Too cute)
They were each given a bag and then they went on a treasure egg hunt.  They even found treasures in a tree.  Then it was off to the chicken coop to gather some more eggs.

Have a seat Nathan....we need to sample our treasures!

Tyler loves collecting rocks.  Too bad there wasn't a lake near by where he could throw them into the water.

We had a great visit at aunt Heather's . Then off to Colassanti's to see the animals and get some donuts.

The mom's and the kids went to see all the animals while Scott and Papa solved the world affairs.

Back to Nana's for yummy stuffed potatoes and corn on the cob.

The children ate their Easter dinner on pretty plates and decor provided by aunt Heather. They had their very own table in the kitchen.

Inside the bunny were treats for all the children.

The adults ate in the living room as it provided more space. It was sure fun to be together.  The only thing to make it better would be our three families from Alberta seated beside us at our table.  We really missed not having them there.

We were so happy that Kathy came!

Jesse was hoping to have dessert first.

Clara cleaned up all the chocolates that the big kids didn't quite finish.
What a wonderful way to celebrate this  Sacred Holiday.

The Ducks Turned Out Great

Finally after all the hard work....the ducks were completed and ready to go home.

It was such a fun venture, all the participants had a great time.

Daryl was a patient instructor.  He helped fill in any of the problem areas.

Bob too was pleased with how his turned out. All and all it was such a worthwhile activity.

A Wonderful Graduation

Hey Tracy ...what an amazing accomplishment! You turned a difficult adversity into a great achievement!  Tracy just graduated from chef's  school in Livon Michigan..  She was our Sunday school teacher in Wallaceburg.  We sure miss her.!!

Beautiful flowers were a must for such a great celebration on April 21st. 2011.
I think heaven will look like this minus the calories. Tracy's speciality is pastries.

I believe there were 90 graduates that evening.

This leg of lamb was so tender it melted in my mouth.  Absolutely delicious.!!  We got to try everything.
These were choc. dessests....and so delicious.
They had created several ice carvings....absolutely beautiful.
I made several stops here with every kind of breads imaginable.
Each graduate could only invite 2 guests. I was so glad on her list.
Two of Tracy's good friends who attended classes with her.
Tracy ....we are so proud of you.!!!   I just learned that she is engaged to be married to a fellow from Oregon on May 21st.  How wonderful Tracy ....you deserve a great future.

If I'd Known How Much Fun This Would Be I Would Of Had Grandkids First

The question was.....want to go shopping.....Clara's answer...YES!

So off to Canadian Tire we went with the 2 kids riding side saddle.  We got out indoor planting supplies.

Nathan wanted to plant an onion to take home and watch it grow.  So he put in his own soil a tiny onion bulb in a cup with his name on it.
We still had lots of bulbs left over.
                                                           He carefully watered it.

He did one for Clara too.

Nana put hers in a large pot.  Then we put all three in the front room for the full morning sun.

Thursday morning after breakfast we decided to paint some of Papa's garden rocks.

Clara really got into this!

After we all had naps today we went to Jack Miner's to feed the geese.  Clara had no fear and chased the geese until they ate out of her cup.

She just loved it!

Clara didn't ever  want to leave.

Nathan waited patiently .....but not too many geese came his way.

We found a fun swing there.

We went into the viewing station.  Here you can see the entire pond where the wounded geese are treated.

It's actually quite large.

We went inside the museum and Nathan was especially smitten with this man Jack Miner who took care of all the geese.

Inside also was a bench just their size.

The children leaned about a famous baseball player who was great friends with Jack Miner.

The turkey raised his plumage just for US!

Then off to the park for some fun exercise.

We even hit the beach at lake Erie.

We ended our visit passing by Old Surf Side Three.  This  is where I spent my  every weekend as a teenager.  I haven't come back here for years. Wonderful dancing memories for me in this old building!!  Great way to end a fun day.
