Home Schooling is Awesome

I'm the one learning at home and  loving it.  I always wanted to start an indoor garden and now we have one.  This is a close up of our 7 spinach shoots.  Bill is a great mentor as he's a terrific gardner.

We also planted yellow beans in a second pot but I think they got way too much water.  None have come through the soil.

Here at a distance you can see a few more shoots of spinach.  We had squash last night for dinner so now I am drying the seed in the front room in full sunlight to get them ready to plant inside.

The dollar store has absolutely everything...so we got a watering can with more holes so it should be more gentle on our tender plants.

I'm also reading like crazy to find healthy foods to improve our health .  This is a waffle made from quinoa flour.  It is suppose to be the best flour for high nutrients and easy digestion.  It didn't taste that great but it is wonderful in soups like crotons.   I'm still full.  It helps get rid of yeast and bloating and gives us firm tummys.

I have a fun book about decorating ideas for your home.  After drying your fresh flowers it teaches you how to decorate your candle holders.

I am also improving my geography skills.  (They have been wanting for years.)  I now know where places are in the Middle East.  I just finished studing where all the states are located in the US.  Now I'm working on the 40 countries in Europe.

See what you have time for when you are an empty nester....it's absolutely wonderful.  Also last night I went to Leamington church library to work with Norma on family history.  She is great.

A Sucker Still Works

This was the perfect solution .  I remember when I was little and mom took me shopping and I screamed to get some gum or a chocolate bar and she reached in her purse and out came that yummy sucker.  The world was great at that moment and I was very content.
Yummmmmy!

Back On The Farm Again

Bill is having a riot..taking care of his 3 little hens.  He calls them his little women.    He says it brings back great memories of growing up in a farm community.  He actually used to show chickens in the Leamington Fair after raising them.
Fresh water is what they wait for.

Not to mention their daily substance being replemished.
It was then a race to get at it.!
Last week the heat lamp went out so he got them another one.

They are nice and cozy now.

I got in on the action too.  Best of all for me was gathering the eggs.

Even getting the mail at the road brought back great memories of long ago.

So Anxious To Get Outside And See Some New Sights

I gave her icecream and she seemed to enjoy it.  I had the girls put her in her chair so I could take her to the sunroom

I curled her hair and put on some lipstick . I showed her how nice she looked in her hand mirror . She gave me a little smile.

I rubbed her legs and back and hands but now she was sad.  She said I want to get out.  I tried to explain that we will be going out shortly when the weather is nicer but she just cried.  Honestly it breaks my heart that she is a prisoner in her own skin.

It's Officially Spring

I always begin my Spring cleaning  by changing the table toppers.  Usually with fun artificial flowers!

This usually gets me in the mood to do other things like cupboards and curtains.

I thought why not use Aunt Barb's beautiful quilt as a table topper. It is so pretty!
Then Bill brought home these lovely real flowers....just because.
Bill you scored and it's not my birthday , Valentines Day or Christmas!
I Love It!!

Parties Are So Much Fun

Bill filled this huge pot with 20lbs of potatoes.
We were sure glad we got there early.  Our chief cook spent a couple hours peeling potatoes.
Every thing was done in green and white for our Relief Society dinner on St. Patrick's Day.

Even our tree had a change of colour.

We had after dinner snacks!

The tables were rather festive.

We had lots of deplays.

We had a group picture and then ate dinner.

This is our Relief Society Presidency.

After our group picture 5 more women came , 3 were investigators.  This is one of them.
